Hey Guys, Welcome back to Interesting Intelligence. I know this blog is very very very late and I apologize for that. This is my review of the MSI Prestige 14'. It is a very portable 6-core laptop with a GTX-1650 max-q for creative work and gaming. Sometimes, I get super-excited about some products the moment I hear about them. This device is similar in design to the
Razer Blade Stealth. Razer Blade Stealth is the smallest laptop in the world. The Razer Blade Stealth is around 1800$ but this one is a lot cheaper, it is for around 1200$. It is the less-expensive version of the Razer Blade Stealth. I think a lot of people will like this device but it is not perfect.

This is a fully-aluminium device. It has a pretty good build quality. It is really good for an MSI device. It does feel like that the bottom-panel has been made with a thinner metal as compared to other devices but it is fine. They have 2 USB-A ports and 2 USB-C. It uses a USB-C to charge. The AC adapter is 90-Watts. It is nice to see a USB-C charging device with G-Force GPU and a pretty powerful CPU. The keyboard and trackpad have the standard MSI layout. It is very easy to get used to. One thing which I don't like about this keyboard is that it doesn't spring up quickly. A lot of people will like the keyboard. The trackpad is pretty big, it has a glass surface and there is a fingerprint sensor on the top-left corner of the trackpad. The screen on this device has two options. There is a 1080p version as well as a 4K panel. It is a really nice screen. It is bright and colour-accurate and if you are into video/photo editing. Now, let's talk about performance, this is running a GTX-1650 max-q as well as a 6th GEN Intel processor and 10th GEN U processor. Now, because it's a 14' device, you have less room to handle the heat produced by this device. It has a single fan to cool the decent GPU and the 6-core CPU. It's running two heat pipes to connect everything together. This system can get hot. It can throttle depending on what you do. Even, if you let the fans get loud it is very difficult for this system to handle the heat. It is really close to being to handle it.

This is advertised as a creator's product. If you are into photo/video editing, this could be a good fit.

But, no matter what you do you will never be able to make this device use the Adobe Premier as nicely as the 15' devices do. You will have good playback performance but when it comes to rendering time there was just a clear deficiency in thermal performance. This system can handle the GPU going full-tilt or the CPU going full-tilt, not together! If you use both of them together, it overheats and that is what video editing is about it needs both of them. Now, here's the thing because it is the only 14' 6-core device, it is hard for me to compare it to any other device. If you compare it to a 15' gaming device it is not as good but I don't think it is a fair comparison. There is another variant of this and that is going to have better thermals but I was less-interested about that thing. Now the 14' device has great components and is more portable. If you want this device just keep in mind that there will be a 15% performance deduction as compared to bigger devices.

There are a couple of things that I don't like about this machine. First, are the ports, it has a decent port selection but the devices don't insert that deep into the port and the other thing is the battery life.
You will get around 6-7 hour battery life which is significantly less than the bigger version.
