17' Razer Blade Pro 2019

Hey Guys, Welcome back to Interesting Intelligence! This laptop is SO much better than the previous blade pro. The thermals are crazy good. I would say that it is their best gaming laptop with awesome thermal performance. This laptop is brand new from this year, It is completely redesigned. It is their most expensive, most powerful and the most big-screened gaming laptop and it's a nice looking unit. I like this laptop a lot, however, there are some things which I want you to know if you're interested in picking this thing up!

1) Hardware

The build of this device is very similar to the build of the 15' this year. It's got the same kind of design, shape, the light-up snake logo up front. It is very much an updated Razer product. I highly recommend you for getting a case or skin it if you buy a black one because even with very safe handling this device sometimes has dents and they are very much visible on a black one.
This laptop is obviously bigger and heavier than the 15' device but they've done what they could to keep this device as compact as possible. No matter what they've done, understand this that it is a big device! This does not fit in most backpacks despite the compact nature of it, it's still a 17' device after all. Now, with that extra size, you get a few more ports. You get an ethernet jack and you also get a very fast SD card reader. So, if you're into photography/videography and use SD cards frequently, this is a good option. The keyboard and the trackpad are very similar if not identical to the one on the 15' model. It's got all the RGB lighting and stuff. The placement of the shift key and the keys around it is a bit different which I don't think will affect everyone. The keys are a bit hollow. The speaker has improved. It also has face recognition system.

2) Screen

In terms of image quality, it's actually very similar to the 15' panel. In terms of brightness and colour accuracy, it's a great screen and it's very fast at 144Hz but, it's not any different from the 15' panel. It's a bit of a shame, I feel like they may offer it in the future like they may have an OLED panel option later down the line. I am surprised they don't offer that because a lot of people looking for that 17' panel, they also want that better image quality. A 4K panel on this machine would've been nice.

  3) Performance

Performance on this machine is solid. I was surprised at how good it is. It's running the latest and greatest: 9th GEN CPUs, RTX GPUs... Both gaming and video editing is excellent on this machine. If I was recommending one of the GPUs as, like my favourite one, It would probably be RTX 2060. In terms of value, you get the best one. So, performance is good, but even more impressive is the thermal performance on this device. Razer is a company that has always aimed for making these thin gaming laptops and because of that, they've run into thermal issues. The 15' device is good but the 17' device is on another level. I was shocked but then when I saw the cracked open device, I knew what it was! They've their regular setup with a fan on each side and the vapour chamber. These things are normal but the gamechanger this year is an extra pair of fans at the front of the device and these fans suck in air from the bottom of the laptop and blow it through the device. If you look at the bottom panel, they've put some pads in here to direct the airflow in a very precise manner just so they can exhaust it in the perfect way. Whatever they've done is working well. There are devices with temperature even less than the Razer Blade Pro but to see this in such a thin device is impressive to me. Interestingly, when they first announced this product, I remember saying " I am glad that Razer opted to choose just the 6 core CPU". SO, Intel has a more powerful chip and they didn't offer it. I thought it's good they're doing this because they will probably run into thermal issues but after seeing that 8 core CPU, I think Razer could manage to put that 8 core CPU into this device. In this device, you have access to 2 drives, 2 RAM slots and also the WiFi card. The one they include is a kickass WiFi card it supports WiFi 6.

4) Battery

There is one problem with this cool secondary fan system, You have a very small battery. This actually has a smaller battery than the 15' device which is crazy. It's a 70-watt-hr battery compared to 15' 8watt-hrhr battery. It's 3-hour battery life.

5) Price :

This device is very expensive, but, it's kind of expected, considering what you're getting. If you ask me to choose between the 15' and the 17' device. I personally prefer the 15' device because you're losing battery life and the 17' device is also very big and also you're paying more. But, if you want a big screen, This is a good option!

16' MacBook Pro

These are my thoughts on 2019 16' MacBook Pro with improved thermals, better specs and new Radeon Pro 5000M Series GPUs. This laptop has been rumoured forever and many people had this device on their wishlists as well. This device is something special. The 16' inch screen is the least interesting thing to me. It looks like this is a device launched after a long time where they really cared about what users actually want. This laptop is slightly bigger and heavier than the 15' model which is obvious. The top of the keyboard now has a physical escape key and the keyboard is no longer a Butterfly keyboard it is now upgraded to a Scissor-Switch keyboard. It has a very similar mechanism to an iMac. The key-press travel has increased from 0.5mm to 1mm. It is a significant improvement and anybody who does not like MacBooks for the new keyboards; " Welcome home". The tried to use the Butterfly keyboard but I am glad that they are done with them, The second thi...

Surface Pro X

This is my review of the Microsoft Surface Pro X. Do you think this ARM-based tablet can compete with the iPad Pro or Surface Pro? Surface Pro X is a product which was clearly designed to compete with what iPads offer. This is a thin, elegant looking, magnetically attached tablet that has an ergonomic design that looks good with good battery life and still runs Windows 10 for the functionality that people want in a computing device. I am gonna start with hardware and then I will come to user experience. This is not a super-light machine. It is slightly lighter than the regular Surface Pro. It has a bigger screen and thinner bezels and is heavier than an iPad Pro. The finish of this device is black anodized aluminium. I also found that some of the edges have got sharper. Due to the sharp edges, this device becomes prone to damages which generally should not be the case in premium Surface devices. Protect this stuff! I highly recommend a skin for this device. This is a go...
