M1 MacBooks: Peformance Kings?

My review of the M1 MacBook Air, MacBook Pro and MacBook mini. These are the best laptops to buy from Apple right now.

Performance

I saw some test on these laptops, and I couldn't believe it. And, that's why I rechecked myself a lot of time but, the clear fact is that these three laptops are beasts. The benchmarks are awesome. The single-core benchmarks are better than Intel and AMD by a long-shot. And the MacBook Pro and Mini don't throttle at all. You can run it as long as you want to but they, just don't. The MacBook Air does throttle after 8-9 minutes, but that is also very shocking because MacBook Air does not have a fan and laptop which don't have fans start throttling in second so I don't know how they are doing it but, whatever it is it is amazing.

Apple's software + hardware = insanity

I saw the build-up time for some Apple applications on these devices, and those numbers just keep blowing my mind. The build-up time is somehow matching with a Hackintosh. What fucking magic has Apple done! And for Final Cut, these MacBooks are giving the same time as a 16' MacBook. I really want to know how are they doing it! Someone, please tell me!

Non-Native Apps and GPU

Adobe Premiere is not optimized for these MacBooks yet but, I saw the result anyway. Can you believe if I tell you that it can run all of your videos without even skipping one frame? I had such low expectations because these apps are not for these laptops right now, but they just keep surprising me. I saw the GPU as well, and it is good but, not great. Like it is not as good as the 16' MacBook but, it will surely get better with time.

Battery, Apps and Ports

The thing I really wanted to check was Apple's claim to run MacBook Pro at half-brightness for 20 hours of video-plack on one sing charge, and they were not lying. It is real. The screen is a bit dark, so I checked at 250 nits, and one more amazing stunt by Apple was in front of my eyes.  I always knew that there will be developers coming for Apple Silicon, but, I knew the rate at which they would. There are so many developers already who can do such amazing things so apps will never be a problem in Apple Silicon. Now, there are only two ports in MacBook Pro and mini. Earlier there was an option to get 4 but, it is only 2 this time.

Displays and Air vs Pro

All three of these can connect to three screens each(sidecar included) which is great but, there will be a few connectivity problems for the developers as there are only two ports so they will have to go for MacBook mini. Now, MacBook Air is the best Air version of MacBook ever, and MacBook Pro does not really stand out as a Pro. You can photoshop, edit videos or even code on MacBook Air and that is the laptop for most of the people.

Should this be your next laptop?

The aesthetics for these laptops look unchanged, and the webcam still isn't great, but the performance is the key in this laptop. If you care about GPUs, wait for some time, and I am sure they can drastically improve. If you are a Windows user, we have Lakefield and Ryzen 5000 coming up so you can see those before buying this. But, if you buy this laptop just keep in mind when you give the control of hardware and software to Apple, they can do amazing things but, you will lose out on stuff and get some unnecessary thing as well like butterfly keyboard or touch-bars. You just kind of lose control of your hardware.

17' Razer Blade Pro 2019

Hey Guys, Welcome back to Interesting Intelligence! This laptop is SO much better than the previous blade pro. The thermals are crazy good. I would say that it is their best gaming laptop with awesome thermal performance. This laptop is brand new from this year, It is completely redesigned. It is their most expensive, most powerful and the most big-screened gaming laptop and it's a nice looking unit. I like this laptop a lot, however, there are some things which I want you to know if you're interested in picking this thing up! 1) Hardware The build of this device is very similar to the build of the 15' this year. It's got the same kind of design, shape, the light-up snake logo up front. It is very much an updated Razer product. I highly recommend you for getting a case or skin it if you buy a black one because even with very safe handling this device sometimes has dents and they are very much visible on a black one.         This laptop is obviously big...

16' MacBook Pro

These are my thoughts on 2019 16' MacBook Pro with improved thermals, better specs and new Radeon Pro 5000M Series GPUs. This laptop has been rumoured forever and many people had this device on their wishlists as well. This device is something special. The 16' inch screen is the least interesting thing to me. It looks like this is a device launched after a long time where they really cared about what users actually want. This laptop is slightly bigger and heavier than the 15' model which is obvious. The top of the keyboard now has a physical escape key and the keyboard is no longer a Butterfly keyboard it is now upgraded to a Scissor-Switch keyboard. It has a very similar mechanism to an iMac. The key-press travel has increased from 0.5mm to 1mm. It is a significant improvement and anybody who does not like MacBooks for the new keyboards; " Welcome home". The tried to use the Butterfly keyboard but I am glad that they are done with them, The second thi...

Surface Pro X

This is my review of the Microsoft Surface Pro X. Do you think this ARM-based tablet can compete with the iPad Pro or Surface Pro? Surface Pro X is a product which was clearly designed to compete with what iPads offer. This is a thin, elegant looking, magnetically attached tablet that has an ergonomic design that looks good with good battery life and still runs Windows 10 for the functionality that people want in a computing device. I am gonna start with hardware and then I will come to user experience. This is not a super-light machine. It is slightly lighter than the regular Surface Pro. It has a bigger screen and thinner bezels and is heavier than an iPad Pro. The finish of this device is black anodized aluminium. I also found that some of the edges have got sharper. Due to the sharp edges, this device becomes prone to damages which generally should not be the case in premium Surface devices. Protect this stuff! I highly recommend a skin for this device. This is a go...
