Real talk about the 16' Macbook Pro

This is my review of the 16' Macbook Pro which I think is the best laptop Apple has made in years. I have already done a technical review for this device. This blog is more like a conversation about this device.

First I will talk about things that will help you make a purchase decision. The i9 is worth it! If you are someone who can make use of those 2 extra cores, it is totally worth it! It has a better thermal performance when compared to the previous generations of this device. It doesn’t have perfect thermals but it has significantly improved from what we saw last year and also the start of this year. Secondly, the GPU, the graphical performance of these AMD chips is quite solid. These new AMD 7 nano-metre chip give a significant bump in performance as compared to the Vega 20 from the previous generation. If you do anything graphically intense like video editing, this is awesome. When it comes to performance for MacBooks, it has always been complicated. Apple uses USB-C charging in their laptops. There are very few companies that do it but these guys are the only ones who do it with a high-performance Intel chip. There are some advantages to that. First, it allows the device to charge from any kind of USB-C charger if the adapter has the wattage to fill the MacBook Pro. Secondly, it also allows the device to work on an aeroplane power-socket. The vast majority of high-performance laptops will not work in the aeroplane. The disadvantage of a USB-C charging is that there is a limit of power for the components inside. A lot of people say "Why doesn't Apple put RTX 2080 into their devices" and it sounds great on paper. It is a terrible idea because this system can not run power above 100-Watts. That would require a separate power source. It is not what people and Apple want and that's why they don't do it. I am also glad that they stuck with the AMD chips instead of NVIDIA's high powered chips because that is not possible with USB-C charging and no one can do it. What Apple has created here is the most powerful laptop using a USB-C cable.

The laptop finally has a Scissor-switch keyboard. Thank God!!!! I eventually got used to how butterfly switches felt but the reliability has always scared me with the classic physical "escape" key.
Talking about hardware, they did a really good job this year. The speakers sound fantastic, the microphones are good and the thermal performance has improved. There are a few things which I dislike. I wish they had Wi-Fi 6 and also the webcam running 720p doesn’t have face unlock. It's not the end of the world but it would have been nice but overall the hardware is fine this time.

Now Apple's laptops have had bad hardware since 2016 to early-2019 but this time it is really good. There has always been a concern of value in MacBooks but this one is amazing. Adobe also runs pretty well on this system. If you are someone who was not buying MacBooks for their keyboards or performance, Welcome Home! 17' Razer Blade Pro 2019

Hey Guys, Welcome back to Interesting Intelligence! This laptop is SO much better than the previous blade pro. The thermals are crazy good. I would say that it is their best gaming laptop with awesome thermal performance. This laptop is brand new from this year, It is completely redesigned. It is their most expensive, most powerful and the most big-screened gaming laptop and it's a nice looking unit. I like this laptop a lot, however, there are some things which I want you to know if you're interested in picking this thing up! 1) Hardware The build of this device is very similar to the build of the 15' this year. It's got the same kind of design, shape, the light-up snake logo up front. It is very much an updated Razer product. I highly recommend you for getting a case or skin it if you buy a black one because even with very safe handling this device sometimes has dents and they are very much visible on a black one.         This laptop is obviously big...

16' MacBook Pro

These are my thoughts on 2019 16' MacBook Pro with improved thermals, better specs and new Radeon Pro 5000M Series GPUs. This laptop has been rumoured forever and many people had this device on their wishlists as well. This device is something special. The 16' inch screen is the least interesting thing to me. It looks like this is a device launched after a long time where they really cared about what users actually want. This laptop is slightly bigger and heavier than the 15' model which is obvious. The top of the keyboard now has a physical escape key and the keyboard is no longer a Butterfly keyboard it is now upgraded to a Scissor-Switch keyboard. It has a very similar mechanism to an iMac. The key-press travel has increased from 0.5mm to 1mm. It is a significant improvement and anybody who does not like MacBooks for the new keyboards; " Welcome home". The tried to use the Butterfly keyboard but I am glad that they are done with them, The second thi...

Surface Pro X

This is my review of the Microsoft Surface Pro X. Do you think this ARM-based tablet can compete with the iPad Pro or Surface Pro? Surface Pro X is a product which was clearly designed to compete with what iPads offer. This is a thin, elegant looking, magnetically attached tablet that has an ergonomic design that looks good with good battery life and still runs Windows 10 for the functionality that people want in a computing device. I am gonna start with hardware and then I will come to user experience. This is not a super-light machine. It is slightly lighter than the regular Surface Pro. It has a bigger screen and thinner bezels and is heavier than an iPad Pro. The finish of this device is black anodized aluminium. I also found that some of the edges have got sharper. Due to the sharp edges, this device becomes prone to damages which generally should not be the case in premium Surface devices. Protect this stuff! I highly recommend a skin for this device. This is a go...
